Jean Marie Kouassi

As the Director of Cultural and Sports Diplomacy at Women Campaign International (WCI), Jean Marie Kouassi leads the charge in developing and executing strategic initiatives aimed at fostering cultural understanding, cooperation, and empowerment through sports and cultural diplomacy. He meticulously aligns these endeavors with WCI’s mission and values while forging impactful partnerships with international organizations, sports associations, cultural institutions, and government agencies to further diplomatic objectives.

Jean Marie’ strategic acumen, keen strategic insight, cultural sensitivity, and dedication to international cooperation have led to notable achievements, including the creation of The Philadelphia African Cup Of Nations for Peace (PACONP). This initiative successfully brought together immigrants from sixteen African nations in Philadelphia, amassing over 12,000 participants, to compete for peace in a soccer tournament. The initiative gained global recognition, with the United Nations sending a representative to support the 2016 event. Moreover, it inspired Mayor Kenney to establish the annual Philadelphia International Unity Cup.

In addition to his professional achievements, Jean Marie Kouassi holds degrees from both the Wharton Business School and the School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. Jean Marie’s unwavering commitment to community inclusion and women empowerment has established him as a leader in health equity, education, sports, and cultural diplomacy.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Jean Marie enjoys indulging in his hobbies of fishing and playing volleyball.
