In order to 'get women a seat at the table' WCI trains women in political participation, campaign skills, and community involvement. Through working with elected officials, women's caucuses and other relevant groups, WCI provides training and assistance to increase local women's ability to participate in decision-making processes on local, state and national levels.
WCI equips women to start their own businesses or simply take a larger role in household financial decisions through training in business and financial literacy skills, entrepreneurship, and basic budgeting. WCI has found that programs that encourage women’s economic ventures will significantly increase women’s self-confidence and ultimately impact broader social change.
WCI prepares women with trainings in grassroots organizing, health messaging, and action planning to make positive, measurable change in their communities. As agents of change, they learn to identify community issues, raise awareness, and engage key stakeholders. As a result of WCI's training, women are equipped with the tools to influence policy and create the change they want to see in their community and their nation.
Peacebuilding and Conflict Mitigation
WCI creates trainings, programs, and media campaigns to enhance the advocacy and leadership skills of women leaders, as well as promote the importance of their participation. As research has shown, peaceful compromises are more likely to last if women are involved with the creation of the agreement
