GALS Social Media Workshop
[ February 25, 2012; ] WCI will work with 2012 GALS (Global Advocacy and Leadership Series) participants on using social media to advocate for change. GALS participants will work in teams to develop Facebook pages, videos, and other social media strategies to raise awareness for pressing community issues!
Launch of WCI’s 2012 GALS Program
[ February 11, 2012; ] WCI welcomes high school girls from three Philadelphia charter schools to the 2012 Global Advocacy and Leadership Series. The first workshop explores Global Women’s Issues and Advocacy. The girls will work throughout the day to select an issue, identify their goal and research their topic.
Launch of Community Advocacy Campaign in Grand Kru Country, Liberia
[ March 9, 2012; 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. ] This month, communities across Liberia will launch advocacy campaigns, raising awareness for community-identified issues relating to gender-based violence. Each community will participate in a series of trainings and be given a small stipend to design, organize and implement a community wide advocacy campaign!
