In honor of Sunday’s International Women’s Day, WCI celebrates the appointment of the first woman, Noor Al-Fayez, to the Saudi Council of Ministers.  It was announced in last month’s cabinet reshuffle that Ms. Al-Fayez will serve as Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Women’s Education.  She has stressed her commitment to speaking out against bureaucracy to improve girls’ education in her country. It’s an important step and we hope Noor Al- Fayez is the first of many women officials to serve on the Council.
